We rode to St. Louis to see the arch. We were told to buy our tickets in this Old Courthouse

The Hyatt and Ruths Chris were just across the street.

He thought the beds at the Hyatt were pretty hard

I liked the reflections of the buildings off of this glass skyscraper

Inside the dome at the Old Courthouse

Below the dome

The arch from the courthouse steps

The short walk became a long walk with all of the detours due to construction.

A few different views as we approach

View of Courthouse from below the arch

Tourist Sightseeing

A bridge over smooth water.

Sherm is trying to get back to normal after being searched for weapons, contraband, etc.
He never made it! :)

After waiting for an hour you crawl through these small 2'x4' doors and ride to the top of the arch. Takes 4 min to go up and only 3 to get back down.

Our guide. Basically he just told us to not bump our heads on the door and not to take pictures of him. I did both!

At the top you can take pictures from these tiny little windows. These are with telephoto.

These without

Lot's of selfies up here

Sherm is waiting for a better view

Finally!

Busch Stadium

Courthouse and adjacent buildings from the top

Busch again

Just in case you were wondering how tall the arch is. About 60' wide at the base and 17' wide at the top.

A few up close views from the bottom

Taking the long walk back to the bikes

Needing food we stopped here. Has been in business here for over 100 years. Building was last remodeled in 1945. Food was average at best.

I don't think I have ever visited a better historical site.

Grants Farm

Free entry, free tram ride, and free beer!

The farm was a very peaceful place

You've seen these before, on a commercial. This is where the famous Clydesdale horses pull the beer wagon through the gates.

A very unique fence. All of the vertical post are rifle barrels from the civil war.

One of only two houses that were built and lived in by a US President

One is a Conestoga, can you name the other?

Lot's of animals, both wild and tame

Yakkity Yaks

The young one there is only 4 weeks old

Can you find the deer?

Come on in, the waters fine!

Goosas

Several kinds of elk

Even white ones

This tree has survived being hit by lightning 3 times

Kind of a children's play area thru those doors.

Free Beer!

Just a Treat!

Ah, we can go home now if I can just get off this tram!
