This morning I let the GPS choose where we had breakfast. |
They saved money by building a short counter top, but lost it all when they had to special order the short bar stools! |
We ate next door since Blondie's was closed till she returns from Germany |
We drove 43 miles out of our way so Sherm would not break his string of having gone to Wal-Mart at least once a day for the last 27 years! |
I like the idea of keeping a little of the old with a lot of the new. |
St. Clair has both hot and cold water towers. The hot side is fed but 13 acres of hot water solar collectors. |
There are tourist traps the entire length of Route 66 from Santa Monica Pier in CA to Illinois. |
I don't think this is an Amish farm, but it does have one of their popular Hex Signs. |
Regardless, it was a beautiful and apparently well managed place. |
A flea market on Route 66 that has endured for 31 years. |
We decided to eat at the first place we found on Route 66 for lunch/dinner |
We both had excellent meals, and I believe we will return........especially since I want to try what he had. |
It is a shame that the many businesses along the route have been lost because of the rerouting of the highway. These were nice places at one time. |
